Toyota boss bets $100 that they will produce the first lithium-ion vehicle

The VP of Toyota has made a $100 bet that they will be the first automaker to produce a lithium-ion vehicle. Toyota has accepted defeat to GM, as they will most likely be the first car maker to produce a plug-in vehicle. Don Esmond, the senior vice president of Toyota U.S, assumes or hopes that GM will not commit to such a program as they have worked hard on the lithium-ion vehicle.
Many assume that a revamped Prius could possibly be a lithium-ion version, but I cannot see this happening.
