Sentinel Funds Request Denied, Sentinel Money Market Remains Trading

Recently, the Sentinel Management Group posted a request to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission to stop all withdrawals from the Sentinel funds.

However, the Sentinel Management Group request has been denied by the Commission as it said it lacked the authority to stop trading in the Sentinel money market.

The Sentinel Management Group placed this request due to significant increases in trading out of Sentinel funds and the Sentinel money market.

The Sentinel Management Group said:

‘We had previously thought that the market would return to some semblance of order and that our clients would not join in the panic,’
‘Unfortunately, this has not been the case. We cannot meet any significant redemption requests without selling securities at deep discounts to their fair value and therefore causing unnecessary losses to our clients.’

Market Analyst Sam Kirtley of The Gold Prices Newsletter believes this is a sign of the fear in the market: “Investors are starting get very worried about the market and when this happens investors usually flock to gold to protect their wealth. This is why we having been telling our readers to buy gold and gold stocks to profit from the chaos as other investors scramble to protect their wealth.”

Investors in Sentinel funds must be feeling very worried about now and this decision by the Sentinel Management Group to try and suspend withdrawals from the Sentinel money market may spark a mass of withdrawal requests.

What do you think about the position of Sentinel Management Group and the Sentinel money market?

Should investors exist positions in Sentinel funds?
