Photo and Videos from Across The Universe revealed

Across the universe is on many film critics hotly anticipated in 2007 list. The trailer was released way back in February and it received rave reviews and everyone was waiting for news of a release date.

There were then stories that the film’s director, Julie Taymor was fighting with the studio to keep her final cut after Revolution Studios founder Joe Roth re-cut the film without her permission.

The film has been described at a “romantic musical” told through numerous Beatles songs performed by the characters. The love story set against a 1960’s backdrop moves from the dockyards of Liverpool to the creative psychedelic of Greenwich Village, from the riot-torn streets of Detroit to the killing fields of Vietnam.
The lovers, Jude (Jin Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), along with a small group of friends and musicians, are ‘swept along into the emerging anti-war and counterculture movements’ with Dr. Robert (Bono) and Mr. Kite (Eddie Izzard) as their guides.

I’m intrigued to know what the film will look like when it premieres at Toronto, and whether the re-cut has heed or hindered the film. To check out some more production photos and videos click here.
