Ice Cube, star of Are We There Yet? And Are We Done Yet? is on the verge of signing on for a comic book adaptation. Now, unless you’re a fan of Ice Cube, you won’t be jumping for joy.
Credit where credit’s due, he was the best thing in both films and he was good in xXx2: State of the Union, so he is worth the gamble. He is set to star in 10, based on the graphic novel by Shannon Eric Denton and Keith Giffen.
In the film, Ice Cube’s hero gets a piece of junk mail one day informing him that he is in a competition with nine other people. Whoever comes out alive, wins. Nice! Naturally, he files the mail under “Unlikely/Nigerian spam” in the big round riling cabinet and goes about his daily business - until one day an axe-wielding stranger turns up at his door in an attempt to kill him.
Ice Cube’s company is negotiating to produce with an eye to him taking a starring role. Charlie Bartlett’s screenwriter Gustin Nash (I kid you not!) is adapting the script with Jesse Cale.
Ice Cube is currently working on First Sunday where he plays a crook trying to rip off a church, and The Extractors, as one of an elite team who break people out of prison.
