AMD’s first Barcelona-named processors are expected to dramatically appear on the 10th September, reliable server-maker sources say. A further chip will be launched in October, apparently.

AMD remain reluctant to comment on the situation whatsoever, but insiders linked to DigiTimes have named the two Barcelonas as the 1.9GHz Opteron 2348 and the 2.0GHz Opteron 2350. The 2.2GHz 2354 will follow a month or so later, the secret agents reported, with the 2.1GHz 2352, 2.3GHz 2356, 2.4GHz 2358 and the 2.5GHz 2360 coming, slowly but surely.

Do we really care? Haven’t intel won the war of processing chips already?
