Perseid meteor shower
Oh my god I was truly amazed by the Perseid meteor shower early this morning of August 13 2007, my personal viewing of this spectacular array of what I would call “fireworks in the sky” left me awed with my jaw dropped and oh yeah blooming tired. I sat up myself with my wife till 4am this morning and totalled 43 sightings altogether.

I am in Yateley, Hampshire, England and to tell you the truth had no idea that we were expecting the Perseid meteor shower until I saw it on the news. So like a mad man decided to go outside in my garden at 11pm and decided to watch what was supposed to be the most spectacular sighting, well my god the word “supposed” automatically became “reality” I really thought in my head I would not see all this (I was wrong of course).

Of course I am tired now so if some of my publishing stories today are all over the place you can understand why.

Please let me know of all your stories of the Perseid meteor shower early hours of August 13 2007, and can you beat my personal viewing of 43 sightings?

my partner and i walked to a field and layed down at about half 11, armed with warm clothes some wine and cigarettes sat and watched the night sky, in total we saw only about 5 “shooting stars” in about an hour, at half 12 we were tired and went to bed.

the shooting stars were amazing in my view, very beautiful, also what made it more special was that it was a very clear night, so we saw many stars, some constellations were very prominent, i saw the plough, i dont know many, but reconised that one. it was very relaxing and enjoyable

also an unexpected site we saw a big fire on the horizon, surrounded by blue flashing lights, the fire was put out, i hope know one was hurt. this was in the st.albans area.

we went out into our garden at about 11pm the kids were hanging out of the loft room and kept saying did you see that, mum you are faceing the wrong way. When i did turn round i managed to see a few.My husband and i got two sun loungers out as our necks were hurting and we stayed out till 2pm. I personally saw about 15 in total some very small and quick, we saw two together at the same time, and a couple of large ones that seemed to leave a trail and burn up.Well worth the tiredness at work the next day.Would do it again.
