Today the National Weather Service has put the island of Hawaii under a hurricane watch and they have also reported that the closest Hurricane Flossie should come to Hawaii will be at 8 pm (EDT) on Tuesday, this will be within 100 miles.
The winds at that time have been estimated to reach around 40-50 miles per hour and as we reported yesterday the surf should exceed 15 feet.
On Monday morning civil defense authorities have met to discuss preparations.
