Mitt Romney Wins

Well the Iowa straw poll results are in and there were no real surprises as Mitt Romney soared to victory with 4516 votes or 31%.

The full Iowa straw poll results are as follows:

1. Mitt Romney - 4516 votes - 31%
2. Mike Huckabee - 2587 votes - 18.1%3.Sam Brownback - 2192 votes – 15.3%
4.Tom Tancredo - 1961 votes – 13.7%
5. Ron Paul - 1305 votes – 9.1%
6. Tommy Thompson - 1,009 votes - 7.3%
7. Fred Thomson with 231 votes
8. Rudy Giuliani with 183 votes
9. Duncan Hunter with 174 votes
10. John McCain with 101 votes
11. John Cox with 41 votes

The Iowa straw poll results do not mean much as many of the top-tier candidates like Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Fred Thompson refused to participate in the Iowa straw poll, anything less than a solid first-place finish would have been devastating to the Romney candidacy.

Internet favourite Ron Paul got 1305 votes – 9.1%, but Ron Paul will need to get more votes to become President.

What did you think of the Iowa straw poll results?

Do the Iowa straw poll results actually mean anything?

What the Iowa straw poll pointless?

I am proud to be an American when I see the way the straw poll seemed to cut through some of the hype created by the media in favor of the over financed candidates.

Back about 1915 or so we had a politician named Woodrow Wilson that accepted a bribe to create the Federal Reserve. They were a group of very powerful bankers and businessmen from around the world at the time. Through the monopoly of being the source of our money and by being outside of our government, or paying any taxes, they have built up a fortune that, I believe, includes owning most of the politicians of the world.

It is going to take a determined, We the People, to restore law and order in our government before we can restore law and order in our once great nation.

“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

    -Woodrow Wilson

Actually Ron Paul came in 5th, and at a substantial lead of his supposed scientific poll standing. Obviously Ron Paul is beginning to get his message of freedom, prosperity, and peace, to the American public. His supporters are committed, and vocal, and excited. We will see Ron continue his climb to the nomination, because we want America back.

I think the fact the Straw Poll results were delayed because of the need of a Diebold machine malfunction and 1500 votes needed to be recounted should be made more of an issue, after all, many states have these machines in operation. I think the fact this is the first Straw Poll that excluded residents from out of state should have been reported. I think main stream media is cutting it’s throat by not reporting the news and trying to keep up or in with the Murdocks is tragic.

When the top three candidates don’t show it means the Straw Poll is an expensive game, to waste funds from lower teir candidates.

I don’t think the Straw poll is pointless, but I do think it’s a reflection of the corruption that is destroying the freedom in the USA.

    AMES, Iowa –

Fred Thompson & Ron Paul do the most with the least.

Undeclared Presidential candidate Fred Thompson and internet powerhouse candidate Ron Paul did the most with the least in the Iowa Straw Poll.
Ron Paul received nearly 77 votes for every day he campaigned in Iowa, the best of all other candidates. Fred Thompson came in second with 50.75 votes received for every day he campaigned in Iowa.
The worst performers were Sam Brownback of Kansas, who spent 115 days in Iowa and only received 19 votes per day, and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani who actually spent more time than Ron Paul, but only recieved about 7 votes for every day he campaigned in Iowa.

The US Voters will never elect a old seemingly gay peacenik faggot to the Presidency like Ron Paul.

Ha! I bet Saveya would have said the same about Barry Goldwater! People don’t even understand the context of where we are these days.

I’m sorry for what I said about Ron Paul. I have this problem where I keep pretending to be real macho and anti-gay but its really ony because I’m struggling with the realization that deep down, I’m gay myself. This has been tearing me up for a long time and I just don’t know how to handle it.

Even if I’m not going to vote for Ron Paul myself, there was no need for me to come across as an uneducated, in-bred, racist gay hater. Gays never did anything to me (except when I wanted them to…wink, wink). So sorry everyone and I’ll try to be more mature next time.

    Go Rudy!

Welp, Mitt can only buy, with papa’s money, votes. How shallow of a man can he be? Ron Paul EARNS every vote with Truth, Prudence, and a complete respect for our Constitution. Honor, Truth, and Valor can not be bought….Mr. Romney…..they must be earned. Daddy’s coattails can’t help you. We see you and know who you are. Ron Paul…you WILL be the next President of the United States of America!

    RON PAUL!!!!!

I have never heard people make such outrageous comments about a politician with little knowledge of what they stand for.
I am squarely with Ron Paul as I see him as the ONLY choice to straighten this country out. The youth of today cannot possibly bail out this deficit, have collective tax increases, be faced with a jump in social security - and have decent wheels, a roof over their head, and eat. If you are young you should be thinking of this. If you are middle aged - do you want to leave some gigantic bill for your kids and grandkids?
I read today that some press do not report the real tally of the votes and who came in what place. This is mighty sad.
I feel that electronic balloting is very fixed.
Tomorrow we will see what the stock market does. If that goes down, and our buying power of the dollar continues to go down how many of us can afford this?
Is time to start listening to Ron Paul explain what is happening. It could be the Fiat Empire (on youtube) which not one other candidate is addressing.
I am proud to have 4 Dr Paul bumper stickers on my truck.
