MultiTouch Interface Coming to Apple’s Macbook Laptops too?

A recent patent application made by the big fruit themselves shows how they may be trying to incorporate their popular(ish) multitouch interface to new macbooks in the future. A great note is that the screen of the laptop isn’t the touch screen, but it is the touchpad that shall be incorporating the multitouch idea, widening it to the length of the laptop.

Having thought about the idea, it seems great, revolutionary even. Those of you wondering whether you will ever be able to rest your wrists on the extended touchpad of your future Macbooks, don’t worry. They are (apparently) already working on sensors that can tell what your hands are doing (uh-oh) and where they are, so they will immediately know whether it was an accidental nudge to the touchpad or a quick flick of the pointer.

If you ask me, I love the idea. I can definitaley see this working, but please Apple- make it good.

What do you think of the new MultiTouch surface idea for the macbooks?
