Sir Elton John, a very successful singer and songwriter recently suggested in an interview that the whole of the world wide web, the internet should be gotten rid of. Now I don’t know if he’s ever been online on MSN or checked his inbox in Gmail, but he really doesn’t know what he’s missing out on. Yes, the internet is destroying music for the music industry but definitaley not for it’s listeners.

“The Internet has stopped people from going out and being with each other, creating stuff,” wrote John in a bylined story in The Sun.

“We’re talking about things that are going to change the world and change the way people listen to music, and that’s not going to happen with people blogging on the Internet,” said John, who turns 60 this year.

Wow, harsh there Elton. But at the end of the day, getting rid of the internet isn’t going to help you. You’re better off formatting your hard drive to get rid of those pictures.

So what do you think? Would the world benefit from having no internet? Would we all become cleverer and find cures to illnesses? Or would it be a big waste of life without the internet? Let us know.
