Steve Martin. He’s one of my favourite comedic actors of all time, he’s starred in such great modern comic classics but now, he’s on a downward turn. Pink Panther was, to be fair, poor but hopefully with the addition of John Cleese, it’ll get a whole lot better.

One saving grace on this movie is that the cast is impressive. The magnificent John Cleese is playing Inspector Dreyfus which I think is absolutely perfect casting! Joining him will be Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina and Aishwarya Rai (“The Queen of Bollywood”) who is often referred to as The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.

The three will play detectives and experts who join forces with Clouseau to catch the thief who has been stealing artefacts from around the world. Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer will be returning to their roles.

The film was written by five screenwriters: Scott Neustadter and Mike Weber (both newbies), Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel and Steve himself. Harald Zwart will be directing Pink Panter 2 which is out 13th February 2009.
