Jessica Alba joins The Love Guru

Surely stunning Jessica Alba doesn’t need any help from The Love Guru? Apparently she does as she’s joined the cast for Mike Myers’ new film, his first live-action since The Cat in the Hat in 2003. An even better cast addition is that of Verne Troyer aka Mini Me!

Jessica will play the owner of an ice hockey team and Myer’s love interest, while Troyer will play the team’s coach. The 40 Year-Old Virgin’s Romany Malco will play the team’s star player who’s wife is involved with the star player on a rival team.

Myers’ “love guru”, Pitka is an American raised on an Indian Ashram and is called in by Alba’s character to break the affair up, get the couple back together and thereby ensure that the teams MVP gets them to the championship. Pitka then becomes the most lovely guru in town!

The film will be directed by Marco Schnabel, a second-unit director on Austin Powers in Goldmember and Meet the Parents. Production is set to start any minute with a June 20th release planned for next year.
