Google News To Allow Limited Comments on Stories

Everyone seemed to get very excited when Google announced that they will be featuring comments on their news stories.
However all these people need to calm down as Google is not allowing any Tom, Dick or Harry to comment on the stories. They will however, be allowing limited comments.
Only if you are involved in the news story can you send your comments in to be published. You must also send a statement explaining how you are connected with the story.
Blimey, this is going to need a ton of manpower behind this to make it work, is it worth it?
If Google only want quality comments on their news stories then here how I think it should work. People can apply for an account to comment on a particular news area. If they are considered a “quality source” with that industry then they are given an account and can comment on stories only with their sector. For example, if you prove you are a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch then you are allowed to comment on news stories related to the stock market. If you are prove you are a member of the US Senate then you can comment on political stories. If you prove Michael Jordan, then you can comment on basketball etc etc.
What do you think about the coming comments system on Google News?
