Norton Antivirus software users need to be careful of a serious bug concerning the ActiveX programming language, which could potentially cause serious problems for users of Symantec products.
Rest assured, last Thursday Symantec patched the security risk giving a warning that the bug under Symantec’s Norton software could allow a nasty attacker to run software on the victim’s computer without their knowledge or permission.
Johannes Ullrich, chief research officer for the SANS Institute said “It’s serious because potentially anybody that has Norton AntiVirus installed is now vulnerable,” he said. “Now all that has to happen is for them to visit a malicious Web site.”
How do you feel about the Symantec Norton software? Would you reccommend any of the Norton protection software?
