Blockbuster Buys Movie Download Company Movielink

In order to get a larger foothold in the rapidly growing online movie business, Blockbuster is buying the digital movie-download service Movielink.

Blockbuster has been competing with rival internet movie download company Netflix and despite Blockbuster adding subscribers to their Total Access program faster than Netflix, Netflix could boast that they offered the ability to instantly download movies and TV shows to a computer.

Not any more.

With Blockbuster buying Movielink, they now have a real foothold to compete with Netflix.

Terms of this deal have not yet been disclosed.
