tom cruise in Star Trek

The juiciest rumour that is circulating at the moment is that JJ Abrams is trying to convince Mission: Impossible III star Tom cruise to play a cameo role in the upcoming Star Trek Prequel.

If Tom agreed, he would play Captain Christopher Pike, James T. Kirk’s predecessor as captain of the U.S.S Enterprise and Mr. Spock’s first commanding officer. Pikes character was featured in the unaired Star Trek pilot episode where he was played by the late Jeffrey Hunter.

It’s highly unlikely that this will happen, especially as Viacom head Sumner Redstone publicly fired Cruise. Maybe Tom will take the role so he can rub Redstone, Viacom and Paramount’s face in it!

We’ll let you know more as soon as we get it!
