Judges Hammer
A US federal judge has said that Microsoft do not have to pay $1.53 billion to Alcatel-Lucent for infringement of two of the latter firms MP3 patents. When we all heard about the original ruling it put shockwaves thought the world of digital music back in March.

Rudi M. Brewster who is the judge has said that Microsoft did not infringe one of the patents after all and legitimately paid a different company, Fraunhofer for the other. The case will not be over for a while because Alcatel-Lucent plans to appeal against the new ruling (we guessed they would).

Should we really care about this?
