We found via Cheap Laptops a very interest story - There are speculations flying around at the moment with the main question being “Does the Medison $150 laptop really exist? Medison who are a smallish Swedish PC company are claiming that they will be selling a basic Linux based laptop for a mere $150. To sort out all these speculations Medison met up with the Swedish Press to bring things to light.

Medison did not really fight their corner to strengthen their credibility but they did show of the computer in front of 10 journalists, but they did not reveal the name of the producer. The question at the press conference was “who is actually going to manufacture the computer?

Medison will not reveal who the company will be because it could really damage their relationships with other companies.

So does the Medison $150 laptop really exist even thou they did show it and who will the company be that produces it?

    And What about the OLPC ? How did they achieve this goal ? The OLPC currently cost 175 $ to produce.
