The IT device manufacturer Lenovo delivered more than 3,500 pieces of equipment recently, which included 2,375 desktop computers, 141 notebooks and 140 servers. In total, Lenovo has provided the Olympic Games people with roughly 14,000 IT devices.

Apparently, the devices are going to be used for ‘testing’. Testing what is a different matter, but they are definitely going to be used for ‘testing’. It really does show how big the olympics are when the testing requires 14,000 devices.

‘The upcoming tests are, in effect, a full rehearsal for the 2008 Games, ensuring the reliability of the hardware that forms the Games’ computing backbone,’ said Yang Yichun, technology director for the event’s organising committee.
