So much golf history has taken place at St. Andrews in Scotland, and today the Ricoh Women’s British Open begins there.
This is the first time that the St. Andrews golf course has ever been used for a a women’s professional golf tournament.
Annika Sorenstam said: “It is a big step in women’s golf,”
“I remember when I played as an amateur, there was a sign out there that said, ‘No dogs or women allowed.’ Is it still there? Hopefully they’ll take it out for the week.”
Well the sign is down and the Women’s British Open is getting started today.
