Prince Kicks off His 21 Show Stint At The 02 Arena

Prince kicked off his series of shows at London’s 02 arena last night and boy was it good to have him back! Armed with a string of hits and two dancers with very little clothes on, Prince rocked the house!
He began his show with a fantastic rendition of everyone’s favourite classic, Purple Rain. Prince, in-between dancing, singing and playing even made a joke about Madonna, ““I got more hits than Madonna’s got kids”, so there was even some comic relief during the two and a half hour set.
After Prince’s third encore, the crowd began to leave - only to run back to their seats when Prince, who appeared with six burley bouncers in the middle of the auditorium, pushed his way through the audience and returned to the stage to treat fans to solo acoustic versions of Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret and Sometimes it Snows in April.
He also covered the amazing Crazy by Gnarls Barkley and Come Together by The Beatles.
Prince doesn’t plan to keep the same set at his shows, he has prepared 150 songs, which he will be playing a section of each night of the tour.
Prince has claimed that this tour will be the last time fans will ever hear him play his greatest hits.
Everyone how attended the gig went home with a copy of Prince’s new album Planet Earth, which he previously gave away free with a UK Sunday Newspaper.
Unlike fellow legend Barbara Streisand, who‘s tickets were in the hundreds, Prince charged a reasonable £31.21, the same figure used by the singer to name his album, website and perfume.

Oooh, that’s a hard one… Don’t know really… I like “Prince” like reeeally much, but it’s too hard to pick just one. And favourite song…oh my…haha! I think iTunes would say “I would die 4 u” or “Call my name” cause those are the ones I’ve listened the most to. That was one year ago though…wow..I think I’ll have to say “Can’t pick” on this one too.. How about you?
I’ll have to listen to all my prince albums in a row and then I might be able to decide, hehe.

and im quite liking gett off aswell, as i bought his vhs with the houstyle video of the song and violet the organ grinder etc etc.
Its really good.
Ive also bought graffiti bridge, its alot like purple rain but just with prince when he had long hair…haha

Haha, I bought Graffitti Bridge last summer and the only song I can rememer from it is “If I came back as a dolphin” and that one just makes me laugh. I should probably give it a second chanse.
“The most beautiful girl in the world” is a reeally good song too.
I’ve watched LA Prince - Live at the Aladdins Vegas. And a couple of other dvd’s that I can’t recall the names off right now.. Oh, and I’ve watched lots of videos on youtube as well.. He sure is amazing!
We were actually thinking about going to the show again. But we we’re too slow and the tickets to the tuesday and sunday shows that I could go to were sold out

awww, ive been drawing this picture of prince and its coming on so nice, i cant wait until its finished.
Yeh well, i really wanted to go again after that show but i think that its too far for me as i live 4 hours away and dont drive yet and too expensive on the train and the times are wrong anyway. Dont get me wrong, i would love to go and all but i think if i do then it would just ruin that one night we had specially.

I painted the “parade” cover for my boyfriend for christmas. I was gonna paint another picture at first but when I got home to my parents (3 hours away from my cd) I changed my mind and I had to print a picture from the net which was reeeally bad. I actually cut off his left thumb at first. Crazy. But it turned out ok, considering the quality of the printed pic.
I really really want to go again too..But I have school..And the tickets on ebay didn’t match my schedule either. But I suppose they put up new tickets every day so I might just have another look : )

I was reading an interview with mayte the other day and she said that she wasnt even allowed to call prince on the phone even when they were married, a bit odd.
