Larger White House Involvement in Replacing New Mexico Prosecutor
By: Daniel Chubb | August 2, 2007 | Leave a CommentThe Congressional investigators received new documents on Wednesday that showed that the White House was more involved in replacing the New Mexico prosecutor than had previously been thought.
In an email to William Moschella, a top Justice Department official, Andrea Becker Looney, the former Special Assistant to the President in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs said:
“[Steve Bell, Chief of Staff to Senator Pete Domenici] mentioned he had chatted with you today about his request for a non-partisan team that specializes in corruption to be sent down to New Mexico,”
