I Am Legend hasn’t even hit our screens yet but screenwriter Mark Protosevich has already been speaking about a potential sequel. I Am Legend is a modern day adaptation of the 1954 classic novel by Richard Matherson.
The LA Times have said,
“There is no word yet on how Protosevich plans to extend the story of lone military scientist Robert Neville’s struggle to survive against a mutant populace. But it’s a good bet that he’s setting it at least 10 years in the future.”
The sequel will all depend on the success of I Am Legend when it comes to theatres on December 14. It will star Will Smith as Robert Neville, a former scientist who is the last uninfected human in Manhattan, if not the world.
The project has been in development with Warner Bros since 1994 with Ridley Scott, at one point, being lined up to direct and Arnold Schwarzenegger was to star.
