Discovery Channel Pays $10m for Treehugger.com
By: Daniel Chubb | August 2, 2007 | Leave a CommentThe Discovery channel has apparently bought Treehugger.com for a massive $10 million.
Treehugger is the number one environmental/green website on the internet and Discovery have bought it as part of the launch of their Planet Green network in 2008.
Graham Hill is the founder of Treehugger and he commented on the purchase by Discovery saying, “I’m really excited. Discovery is an awesome, international brand. We love the people we have met so far and they have made the largest commitment by far of any media company towards green; and it’s all the way from the top of the company.”
What do you think about The Discovery Channel buying Treehugger?
Is this really the best use of the money?
I would have thought $10 million would have paid for a lot of new trees to be planted!
