Australian game developers want same tax break as film industry

If the game industry received the same tax break as the movie industry, then the GDAA has said that it would give them an extra $5 million of investment which Australian developers could use. Greg Bondar, the executive director of the GDAA had this to say “We have a commitment to ensuring that participants in the interactive entertainment industry are equally competitive with our overseas competitors.”
The request that Australian game developers have asked for is the same tax breaks that their counterparts over in Canada enjoy, which have given them more investment money into the country’s game industry.
