Overnight Title for Cloverfield.

A few days ago, we told you that JJ Abrams Secret Monster Flick is Colossus, but it seems that it has been renamed overnight (literally). Apparently, Group One Productions, LLC and Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer registered a trademark (#77232885) “Overnight” on 18th July 2007 for the use in “motion picture, television and music production and distribution services”.

Now, there are more clues. Apparently the Attorney of Record for the trademark is Lori N. Boatright, who just happens to be the Attorney of Record for “SLUSHO!”, “SLUSHO! YOU CAN’T JUST DRINK SIX”, and “BAD ROBOT” trademarks (#77229623, #77229614, and #76340985).

Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum & Morris represent hundreds of Hollywood actors and a few directors and producers. Jackoway is an attorney who is known to have represented J.J. Abrams. He is also the registrant for BadRobot.com.

It’s no coincidence that Jackoway was also the original registrant for Slusho.jp, but it was changed to Satoshi before the trailer was released.
It is obvious that Bad Robot is using Jackoway Tyreman Wertheimer as their cover to hide all connections to the movie.

A source has said, “What are the odds that a lawyer (Jackoway) who represents Abrams would register a trademark using the attorney of record who registered Slusho (Boatright)? Further googling shows no previous connection between Boatright and Jackoway.”

So, is it possible that Cloverfield/1-18-08/Colussus has now got a title - Overnight. The film is meant to take place in one day (you guessed it 18th January 2008) starting at midnight (overnight!)

The only plot clues we have been given about the film is that it follows a group of normal people whose lives dramatically change Overnight when a monster invades New York City. If you’ve watched the teaser trailer, you will also hear that the guy at the end of it says, “this is going to be the best night ever…”

What do you think of the new title? I think it’s the best one yet but I so can’t wait to see this movie mind you, it could have the worst title in the world and everyone would still be excited to see it!

Um, THERE IS A TITLE, THERE’S ALWAYS BEEN A TITLE.

People have just assumed that because it said “1-18-08″ on the movie theater screen, that this just meant it was the date of release. It IS the date of release, but it’s ALSO THE DATE THAT THE MOVIE ITSELF TAKES PLACE (proof here at official site: http://www.1-18-08.com/) When the photos develop you will see the date that they were taken in the bottom right corner of each photo: 1/18/2008. You will also see time stamps in each photo: the earliest time stamp is 12:01 A (which basically means AM), and that particular photo is of the lead male arriving at the party, which basically means that the movie will focus on a 24 hour basis. The movie will end at the end of the day.

Nice site, by the way. Yours, I mean.
