Mets and Diamondbacks Chase Chad Cordero

As the trading deadline approaches, there are rumours that the Mets and the Diamondbacks are seeking Chad Cordero.

The Mets have offered the upcoming pitching prospect Phil Humber for Chad Cordero but as yet, they are standing by their position that they will not trade any of their top four prospects: outfielders Carlos Gomez, Fernando Martinez and Lastings Milledge, and pitcher Mike Pelfrey.

Chad Cordero was orriganlly drafted by Mets GM Omar Minaya and the Mets appeared to be going after Eric Gagne earlier, but Chad Cordero now seems to be the new target.
