The Minnesota Twins agreed a deal today where baseman Luis Castillo is going to the New York Mets.
Luis Castillo is going to the Mets in return for catcher Drew Butera and outfielder Dustin Martin.
Luis Castillo has a $5.75 million contract with the Twins, but this expires at the end of the season, making him a two month rental for the New York Mets.
The Mets recently lost second baseman Jose Valentin due to a fractured right tibia.
