My Xbox 360 games and Pal 60 problems

Now before I get into this I must say I am so ticked of it is unreal and have pulled out all my hair. To start things off I have to say I really put all hands up and bow effortlessly to the Xbox 360, I was so confused of what games console to buy, I had the choice of the Nintendo Wii, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 then I had the choice of waiting for the Xbox 360 Elite, but have to say I could not wait for the Elite so I chose the Xbox 360 and am glad to say I have made the right choice.
Right now to the “My Xbox 360 games and Pal 60 problems” I recently bought from Pixmania a 27 inch LCD HD ready TV which was from Paris, I received my LCD TV which I am very happy about. The TV is stunning and for £299 I cannot complain at all (well until now).
I got my Xbox 360 2 weeks ago and am so happy with the game play and graphics it is awesome, I got a package deal which consists of the Xbox 360 console, wireless controller, headphones, Forza 2 Motorsports game and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter game (lovely). Yesterday I went out and bought 4 more games of which 3 of them work and 1 DOES NOT (damn).
Now you’re asking yourselves “WHY? Well let me explain; I get the game home I try out the first 3 briefly and am really happy, then I try the fourth which is Top Spin the tennis game, oops damn and why are you not working, I get an onscreen message saying please change over in the settings to Pal 60 because this game only works on Pal 60 NOT Pal 50.
Ok not a problem so I go to the Xbox then go to Console settings and try to change it, oh no oh blooming no it will NOT let me, why oh why will you not let me change this. To tell you the truth I am still confused, does this mean I am doing something wrong, or does it mean my new 27 inch LCD TV is not Pal 60 compatible.
What really annoys me is not the fact that this one game does NOT work but the fact is how many games out there only work on Pal 60 format, this means I have to buy another HD LCD TV.
Has anyone had this same trouble when it comes to Xbox 360 games and Pal 60 problems?

And Plkrtn, GTA4 is not a 360 exclusive, it has exclusive content but the game itself is not exclusive. (At least I hope not… you know, since I have it pre-ordered and all. Man, that would suck.)

I never said GTA4 is exclusive, however ask Rockstar what version they say people should get…
Quite literally the only 2 exclusives on that list that I would personally like to see on the 360 are God of War and MGS4.
There are so many games on the PS3 that are rely on being sequels to PS or PS2 games. Its a bit, well, depressing really.

13 out of 37 are original titles… 1/3 of them… and to be fair you will have to admit that it is the developers that make the sequels… why do they make them? because they sell. It’s true on PS3 and it’s true on the 360.
BTW. I didn’t count FFXIII (either one) in the thirteen originals because it has a number after it… but it is really an original, it’s just an RPG good enough to be called Final Fantasy. New characters, new system, new story… pretty much new everything.
Sorry Chris, thats a fine list of games you got there. But no offense - but the only PS3 game I’m actually interested in playing is MGS4. You can keep the rest. Whatever great exclusives you come up with the xbox has a similar/ alternative game to compensate. Oh & I know all you PS3 fans keep claiming that MGS is exclusive. But can’t you just admit theres a small, even tiny possibility that it may appear on the 360? In the past the series HAS appeared on other systems. So never say never.
I’d say Microsoft are having many talks with Konami at the moment, trying to bring it to the xbox. There probably giving them a shitload of bribes too. Yes kojima has said that it would be PS3 exclusive, but you know what? Its not up to him. He created this world but Konami own the distribution rights. Also in the past Kojimia has said that it WOULD be poossible to do it on the 360. If u want some links then here:

Both these consoles are very similar. Apart from minor graphical inhancements etc the only real difference is that the PS3 uses blue-ray while the xbox 360 uses dual layered DVD. So for anyone who claims that its impossible to do a PS3 game on the 360 is an idiot. Even if the game took up like 20 GB of a blue ray disk. The xbox version might have to ship with 2, GASP! even 3 DVD’s. Personally I don’t care if I have to change disks half way through a game. I did it on the gamecube & the original PS.
As for games, everyone’s entitled to their own preferencers. But personally I prefer the xbox library over the PS3’s so naturally I bought an xbox!
Ok, Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only game you like out of the 37 exclusives I mentioned. Therefore, you like 1/37 of all Playstation 3 upcoming exclusives. If I do the same proportion with the Xbox 360… I like 1/4 of Halo 3 -.-
Erm… Don’t you mean you like 1/80 or more? I think the xbox has more than 4 exclusives, much more. And besides its quality not quantity. I seriously doubt that all 37 of those PS3 exclusives will be best sellers. And I know not all xbox exclusives will be the same.
But I’m not going to buy a PS3 just to play 1 game. I’d need at least 4 or more games to convince me to buy one.
But I get your point - you prefer the PS3 Library over the xbox. Fine by me. I’ll enjoy playing my DOA, Halo 3, Halo wars, Gears of war 2, Fable 2, Mass effect, Dead Rising.

another issue has come to my attention with pal 60 problems i found it switching itself off and the disc tray refusing to open when i switch it back on does anyone else notice this . a friend of mine said it could easily be something simple as overheating ,well it does get a lot hotter when in pal 60 mode . let me know if anybody has similar problems …
i own a 360, my nephew owns a ps3. Personally i prefer the 360 (got games that suit me -30 m, my gf - 25 f, and our son - 8 m) and my 12 year old nephew prefers his ps3. Who gives a rats arse which console sells more - i wanna see all 3 next gen (although calling nintendo ‘next-gen’ is pushing it) sell well, cause it means better games all round. all ‘fan-boys’ (ps3 and 360) need to shut their f#%King mouths and just enjoy the fact that both consoles have something to offer!!!
Hope you sorted your pal 60 issues (which was a tv prob, not a console issue!!) and i hope you enjoy the large amount of games on your 360 while other console owners are waiting for some decent games!
If yu ever do get a ps3, i hope any probs you have will be answered by people, not god-damn idiots trying to promote a certain system. i for one want to get paid if i decide to convince my friends into buying one or the other!!!
RExxxxx, I’m well aware that there are more than four upcoming exclusives for the Xbox 360. By the way, that site is extremely biased, and lists only 36 upcoming Playstation 3 exclusives, whereas there are actually 90 games announced. The same thing goes for the Nintendo Wii. The Xbox 360 also has around 50 exclusives coming, so that site isn’t very reliable at all.
