Car Insurance Premiums to Soar: thanks to uninsured drivers
By: Daniel Chubb | July 30, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Premiums have more than doubled in the last 13 years.
Drivers have seen a rise of 8% in the last 12 months and between April and June of this year a rise of 2.5%.
“Although the Police are starting to tackle uninsured drivers there are still a lot out there”
“If they are invloved in an accident, the claims have to be settled by the Motor Insurers Bureau, which gets funds from the industry”
So in effect each honest motorist is subsidising uninsured drivers to the tune of about £30.00 per year (comments by AA Insurance spokesman).
