The New York Times claim Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, says it is unlikely that Google will make any significant impact on the mobile phone software market.
“How many products, of all the Google products that have been introduced, how many of them are profit-making products?” the Times quoted Gates as saying.
Quite a valid comment, I must say, which is probably why he’s not worried about his shares, but we’re not complaining about Google as we like free.
“They’ve introduced about 30 different products; they have one profit-making product. So you’re now making a prediction without ever seeing the software that they’re going to have the world’s best phone and it’s going to be free?” the paper quoted him as saying.
Google are preparing to invade the mobile phone software market with their own software, all of which will be fully revealed soon.
