Michigan Girl Killed By Softball Accident

In Grand Rapids, Michigan USA, a tragic softball accident has occurred.

A 12 year old girl was killed during a softball exercise as she was hit in the back of the head with the softball.

The girl, Maggie Hilbrands, later died in hospital from her injuries.

The mother of the girl killed by softball said:

“She missed the ball. It appears it hit her in the wrong spot. She never regained consciousness.”

To have a young girl killed by softball is a tragedy at it has shocked everyone in the city including the chief of police, Jim Valentine: “It’s absolutely devastating, You think of the hundreds of thousands of kids out there playing softball, and how many times one gets hit in the head. A lot of times they’re just have a bruise and they’re back in the game. This is just a tragedy.”
