Target will stock Blu-ray players only in stores: Another strange twist

What is all this about, let the war begin with another strange encounter. It has been said that Target will only be stocking Blu-ray players in its retail stores only, and those are specifically Sony’s $499 BDP-S300.

The decision which Sony and Target are going to announce today does not include Target’s website, HD DVD movies or Xbox 360 HD DVD drive which means it is not a massive win for Blu-ray. Target are saying things like “We are not proclaiming one format vs. the other as the preferred consumer technology.”

Will the format war be won by the retailer level or the consumers?
