Many people in Hollywood thought it was a done deal that Shia LaBeouf was going to direct Y: The Last Man, this does seem like a strange twist to the story as Caruso directed Shia in the movie Disturbia.
Y: The Last Man follows the life of a young amateur escape artist named Yorick Brown, and also his friend a Capuchin monkey named Ampersand. Something then happens, which kills all mammal life with a Y chromosome on the planet, apart from Yorick and his monkey. Now all the women on the planet have to try and cope with not having any men on the planet. Yorick then goes on search for his girlfriend, which takes him to Australia.
