Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is pressed to Fire Waldir Pires after plane crashes

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva or mostly known as Lula is facing great pressure to fire Waldir Pires who is the Defense Minister who is the top aviation official, this has come about after the two worst air disasters started a near fatal breakdown in air travel.

Newspaper editorials, lawmakers and passengers are urging Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to remove Waldir Pires who is 80 years old, it is said the Pires ignored warnings about the unsafe airport conditions that may have contributed to the crash disaster of TAM SA jetliner at Sao Paulo’s Congonhas airport last week which is reported to have been the worst in Brazil’s history.

Two plane crashes since September killed more than 350 people and this has put Waldir Pires right at the center of Lula’s biggest crisis of confidence since he won a second term last year.
