New Apple Bluetooth Headset: Does this mean it is specific to the iPhone?

A reader called Nomad7674 let this one out on the new Apple Bluetooth headset and the question is “Does this mean it is specific to the iPhone? The new Apple branded Bluetooth headset and we know that because you can clearly see the Apple logo on the headset in the picture below.

The apple headset comes packaged in a black box which is not nothing special with the Bluetooth earpiece in the centre; a combo dock accommodates the iPhone and headset with a USB cable and a nice travel cable for the headset only. Nomad7674 goes on to say that when the headset and the iPhone are connected to the dock the hyped up iPhone display depicts the headset plus its current charge (neat).
