One of the key factors behind the firm’s 15 per cent sales growth seems to be their introduction of real-time technology and investment into IT.

The pizza delivery company says the introduction of online ordering has been responsible for the strong performance in the first half of the year.

Apparently, these new online sales now account for more than 14 per cent of all delivered pizza sales, with online ordering continuing to generate higher sales per order than in store.

Domino’s Chief Executive, Stephen Hemsley said: ‘I am very pleased with the excellent first half, which has further strengthened our market leadership not only in terms of sales but also by pioneering innovations that are leading the way in the home delivery food industry,’.

As more and more companies realise that integration to the World Wide Web turns out extremely profitable, I wonder how long it will be until we see other fast food franchises merging online. I wouldn’t mind seeing my Big Mac delivered to my door an day of the week.
