Cherry Jones to Play Female President Allison Taylor in Fox TV Series 24

The popular Fox TV Series 24 is to get a new President, but it seems that they are going the same route as Commander in Chief and will have a female President instead. Her name is Allison Taylor and the character will be played by actress Cherry Jones.

Cherry is a Tony Award-winning actress and will join Kiefer Sutherland who plays counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer in the seventh season, which is to return to our screens in January 2008. Cherry Jones won her Tony Awards for her roles in The Heiress and Doubt. Jones has also appeared in big movie hits such as The Perfect Storm and Ocean’s Twelve.

Cherry is no stranger to political drama, as the actress has also had guest appearances in the TV Series The West Wing.
