Anti-Drink driving system being tested by Nissan

With the number of drink related road accidents going up each year, Nissan has said that they would like to do their bit in helping to reduce this. The Japanese automakers are now testing an anti-drink driving system.

The system that the Nissan Motor Co. is testing will detect the alcohol level on the drivers, if the level is found to be over the limit, and then the system will disable the ignition. This system will take some cooperation which Nissan has to get from local authorities all over Japan.

Nissan has said that these tests are still in its early stages, and as yet there were no plans as to if and when the technology will be launched.
