Following in the footsteps of Kanguru, Western Digital have announced a new ‘GreenPower initiative’ sporting drives from 320GB to a terabyte in size.
The greener approach is made with an apparent 40% saving in power consumption compared to previous hard drives. Thats a $10 saving on your bill.
The GreenPower drives will start shipping in the third quarter of this year, with Western Digital’s 1TB Caviar GP hard drive being the very first on offer. Good to see big corporations actually help the environment… how else can corporations like western digital help out? Details here.
