TiVo Lite HD Series 3 Update: New Model will cost $299

The new TiVo Lite HD Series 3 is a brand new model which is basically the lighter version of the TiVo 3 of which will cost you around $299, TiVo are getting ready to launch the new highly anticipated HD Series 3 “Lite,” which will target a greater of consumer, many fans of the Tivo posted revealed pics and specs of which one was the TiVo Community forums.

This new model will get rid of the old OLED display and THX certification and swap it with the deluxe remote for a standard model, the specs on the other hand remain pretty similar, the specs for the TiVo Lite HD Series 3 are BCM740x DVR CPU, 1x dual MPEG-2 encoder, 128Mb DDR SDRAM, integrated MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 decoders plus 160Gb SATA HD (which is a lot less than the Series 3 250GB drive) but then again this is the Lite version so is needed I guess, it also has 2x Samsung S5H1411-based tuners.
