PS3 firmware update v1.90 out in Japan: patch gives AVCHD and 1080p24

When things first come out like the PS3 we know that they will have to have a series of firmware updates to give us little extras to keep us users happier. The new Playstation 3 firmware update is v1.90, this new patch which is only in Japan at the moment now manages to force adds 1080p24, the update now gives us playback for files such as AVCHD straight from a memory or digital camera.
PS3 firmware update v1.90 now gives us audio CD upscaling through HDMI or an optical output, the PS3 can even now change XMB wallpaper. Another great feature that could come in handy is now video output settings for both PSone and PS2.
As we said the PS3 firmware update v1.90 is only available in Japan at the moment, but is expected to come to the US very soon.
