The previous book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince sold 6.9 million copies in its first 24hours, which means that the Deathly Hallows books beat it by 1.4 million copies.
This book has had such a massive hype to it, people knew before the final book came out that there was to be a couple of deaths of one of our favorite characters, which we covered in one of our posts Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Ending: We know who dies?.
