Toronto Blue Jays End New York Yankees Winning Streak
By: Daniel Chubb | July 20, 2007 | Leave a CommentThe New York Yankees have had their winning streak cut short by the Toronto Blue Jays as they beat the Yankees 3-2 in the American League yesterday.
With the benefit of Wang’s pitching, the Yankees were leading 2-0 but in the seventh inning, the Blue Jays had four of their seven hits to snatch victory.
Wang said: “Of course, I’m disappointed, If I don’t give up the three runs, we would have won the game.”
The Yankees are facing a tough challenge if they are to catch the Boston Red Sox at the top of the AL East.
Yankees manager Joe Torre said that Wand pitched well and that it was the batting side of things that let the team down, “We just didn’t do a whole lot offensively today.”
Do you think the Yankees can still catch the Boston Red Sox?
