We all know how popular the Nintendo Wii is, but did you know that its sales have now reached 9 million worldwide. To put that in context think of it like this, 9 million sales in just 9 months for the Wii, that’s just 1 million behind the Microsoft Xbox 360.

Both Sony and Microsoft must be in shock, as many people wrote of Nintendo years ago but boy are they back. Looking at the figures the Wii could well hit the 15 million mark with the sales of their games console, by the end of the year.
And in the run up to Christmas there could be another massive push for the Wii, watch out Xbox the Wii is coming to take your crown.

wow. i admire these people buisness knowledge.
I knew all along the Wii will dominate this generation. Many people thought (especially many hardcore gamers) that the Wii would flopped mainly because of its inferior hardware.
High end graphics are not as important in console games anymore. Graphics have reached a point where game developers can realize their vision.
The Wii is dominating for the following reasons:
1. Cheaper than the other consoles.
2. It’s unique, less-intimidating, gameplay enhancing controller. Once you go wii-mote you never go back (yeah I know that didn’t rhyme).
3. Is appealing to people who don’t traditionally play video games.
4. It looks damn sexy.
