Morganville, NJ, July 18, 2007 – Aurora Multimedia Corp., leading innovator of video signal processing and control products announced today the release of its 6×6 HDMI matrix switcher, the HS-66M.
The new product developed and manufactured by RTcom USA, will bear the registered brand Digital Extender® and will begin shipping July 31.
First exhibited last month by both RTcom and Aurora Multimedia at the 2007 Infocomm show in Anaheim, CA, the HS-66M is the first readily available product of its kind. Featuring a powerful full-matrix technology with 1080p capability and HDCP compliance, the HS-66M will be indispensable in many digital signage, commercial and home entertainment applications. As high definition digital video gains traction in the market, the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) promises to become the most efficient choice for digital AV routing and distribution. “The demand for digital video will grow exponentially during the next several years,” said Joon Ryu, President of RTcom USA, “and we intend to be the top developer of these products to the professional integration market.”
RTcom USA recently joined forces with Aurora Multimedia, which will be responsible for all US sales and marketing of the product line. Paul Harris, CEO of Aurora Multimedia said, “We joined with RTcom because they share our strong philosophy of providing very high quality, cutting edge products. The HS-66M is an excellent example.”
With the HS-66M HDMI Matrix Router, high definition audio and video signals from any of up to 6 sources can be sent to as many as 6 displays. While complying with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), a signal from a single source can be sent simultaneously to several displays. The switcher’s actions can be transparent to the user if controlled by RS-232C or LAN (TCP/IP). Infrared and front panel controls are also available. The HS-66M uses HDMI version 1.3 and supports resolutions up to 1080p and WUXGA (1920×1200), and carries an MSRP of $4999.
RTcom USA and Aurora Multimedia recently entered into an agreement that will allow many future products to be co developed, benefitting from the considerable combined innovative power of both companies.
