Chicago Cubs Win for the 17th time in NL against San Francisco Giants
By: Daniel Chubb | July 19, 2007 | Leave a CommentThe Chicago Cubs seem to be unstoppable at the moment, as they beat the Giants to make it 17 wins in 22 games.
The Cubs thrashed the Giants 12-1 and Carlos Zambrano became the National League’s first 12-game winner.
Since the All Star break, the Chicago Cubs have won five out of six games, putting them within 3.5 games of the Milwaukee Brewers at the top of the NL Central.
Carlos Zambrano said: “The last 20, 25 games, we’ve been playing outstanding. We’ve been playing like champions. Hopefully we can continue.”
Its not such a good story for the Giants who lost for the sixth time in seven games and so they remain stuck in last place in the NL as they were without Barry Bonds for the third day in a row.
