Sony Say NO to Grouper and Launches Crackle

Sony have announced that they are killing the video-sharing site Grouper and they are re-launching it as Crackle, Sony yes did buy Grouper last year for a staggering $65 million and is said that it was never a real threat to giants YouTube, it drew in just 4.3 million viewers the same month it was acquired.
Crackle on the other hand aims to be something different meaning something of a filmmaking incubator where you can upload videos and of which then be entered in contests and judged by panels of editors with a promise of up to $20,000 in additional funding and pitch meetings with Columbia Pictures execs for the winners.
Crackle will also be made available on Bravia and on the Playstation Network as well and set that have the Bravia Internet Link accessory, Crackle is now live.
