Miami Dolphins Let Daunte Culpepper Go To Start Over With Another NFL Team
By: Daniel Chubb | July 18, 2007 | Leave a CommentDaunte Culpepper asked to leave the NFL team Miami Dolhpins weeks ago and he has now got what he wanted – a chance for a fresh start at a new NFL team.
On Tuesday, Miami Dolphins released the Pro Bowl quarterback to end a time where there has been a significant split between the team and the player.
Daunte Culpepper was released only one day before a breach-of-contract grievance filed by the NFL Players Association on Culpepper’s behalf against the Dolphins was scheduled to be heard.
The Miami Dolphins have tried to trade 30 year old Culpepper for weeks but all to no avail.
Culpepper also works as his own agent, and he said, “As I was going through this process I heard about a quote by Gandhi that best expresses my thoughts about this victory: ‘First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win. Now that I have won my freedom and I get to choose my next team, I am just like many other people who have to go out and find employment so that I can take care of my family.”
