Update on the next-generation touch screen iPod: MP3 player to run OS X
There are reports in Taiwan that Apple will launch the next-generation iPod next month, which we have covered before, (Breaking News: Rumors of the Touch Screen iPod by August). This 6th generation iPod will work and feel like the new iPhone but without the phone part.

The new iPod will also feature a touch screen, much like the multitouch interface of the iPhone. Other rumors are circulating that this new iPod could run OS X. Some experts feel that if the next-generation iPod does have some of these great new features, then it could affect sales of the iPhone.

Prices are expected to start at around $300.
